From an unexpected beginning to an international project

CHILLIJIL® began in the Swiss mountains during an unexpected turning point. During the pandemic, Lars had to close his previously successful metal-goods company after international container costs made the business impossible to continue. Suddenly there was time, uncertainty – and the arrival of a completely new creative world.

Lars started exploring digital art, artificial intelligence and new ways of transforming words into music. Jil immediately joined him. What began at the family table became a genuine father-and-daughter project: Jil brought ideas, melodies, language and a young perspective; Lars added production experience, creative direction and the determination to turn experiments into finished releases.

From the beginning, the lyrics mattered. Their songs are built around stories, emotions, observations and personal experiences – sometimes direct, sometimes playful, sometimes deliberately ambiguous. AI is part of the production process, but never the story itself. CHILLIJIL® combines human ideas, songwriting, vocals, instruments, editing, sound design, mastering and digital tools into a hybrid creative workflow.

In 2024 Jil began releasing music and stepped behind the DJ controller in public. The first local performance in Wildhaus soon led to appearances in Zürich, Bangkok and Goa. CHILLIJIL® sets are not conventional party programmes: they present original music, atmosphere and a distinctive catalogue ranging from house and deep house to pop, trance and experimental electronic music – including selected tracks played from their own vinyl releases.
